AFL's National Day of Service Report

We are happy to report that we took in over 500 lbs. of food for our local Food Bank. This food drive was in response to President Obama's (actually President-Elect at the time) call for Americans to participate in a National Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As we didn't have much lead time for this event it's amazing the amount of food we took in. Thanks to all the wonderful folks in our communities that participated. Just like most of the things we do here at the library we couldn't have done it without you! (Stay tuned next year as we are considering making this a yearly event.)

Inauguration News & A Vicki Sighting!!!

So... did all of you see our young adult librarian, Vicki Gingrich, being interviewed by WGAL at the inauguration last week? (If you know Vicki you are not surprised that out of the thousands of people there she's the one that landed on TV.) It was an awesome day & we had our library TV broadcasting the events for our patrons. Here are some of Vicki's photos of the day:

Greetings from the circulation Desk!

For those who don’t know me, my name is Paula La Flame. I started working at the library mid-November. It has been a pleasure getting to know members of the community. I appreciate everyone’s patience while I have been learning the library’s system. I would also like to thank the Library staff for all the help they have given me. The Annville Free Library is a wonderful place to work. Stop in and say hello!

An Annoying Song in Honor of our New Blog

Go ahead.....judge for yourself just how annoying this is. (Personally, I find it more annoyingly funny than just merely annoying.) Let me know what you think.
Just click on Lloyd!

Glad you made it to our blog!

Welcome to AFL's first foray into the blogosphere! This will be a learning experience for all of us, I'm sure. The plan is to share items of interest or info relating to the library or the Net in general as they come up so check back often or sign up for the RSS feed.(Not sure what an RSS feed is & how it works? Check out this nifty explanation: Video:RSS in Plain English )
Feel free to comment or send us an email. We'd love to hear from you!
